Overview:
Public Health for Young Adults (PHYA) Day aims to introduce the topic of public health to high school students. Many high school students lack exposure to the field of public health. Through PHYA Day, high school students are able to gain knowledge about public health, explore the field as a potential college major, and understand career opportunities in public health areas: Environmental Health, Epidemiology, Health Policy, Biostatistics, and Community Health.
Activities:
- Working through a community health related problem
- Conducting an outbreak investigation
- Participating in games to win prizes

Increased Knowledge of Public Health:
After participating in PHYA, respondents demonstrated increased knowledge on topics of Public Health. After participating in PHYA, 98.4% of respondents knew that public health has five core areas
