What: We are pleased to announce a full-day Maternal Health Symposium in 2023! This conference seeks to provide excellent educational opportunities that will allow participants to keep abreast of the latest trends and developments in maternal care. Learn from and connect with maternal health experts and leave motivated to continue offering excellent care to women and infants!

Who: Health Professionals who care for WOMEN: Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Behavioral Health Providers, Public Health Practitioners, Community Health Educators, Health Professions Students and Faculty, Women of the
Community, and Other Community Leaders.

Objectives:
With the extension of healthcare coverage for women after delivery, describe the continuum of care from birth through the 4th Trimester and 12 months post-partum to include breast feeding, birth control and post-partum depression.

Identify strategies, barriers, and resources to improve breastfeeding rates in rural areas.

Develop a better awareness of cultural competency through understanding cultural beliefs and practices, attitudes toward healthcare, and healthcare-seeking trends that impact maternal and child health.

Demonstrate an integrated approach for maternal healthcare through interprofessional practice and
education as well as community collaboration and partnerships.
